We asked people how they felt about reopening the rear gate. Parents are very much in favour, as are some of the locals. A few people are opposed. The objectors are convinced that we will not be able to keep that gate car-free. We believe we can.
We have listened to their comments and decided to reduce the length of the trial period. It needs to be long enough for us to be able to get the message across to all our parents, and to see how it works across the seasons. At the Governing Body meeting last Thursday, we agreed to put in the application in September, with the hope that it might get approval by the Christmas, and run the trial through to July. We would have loved to have got this access sorted this year, but it’s complicated and we know that we will only get one shot at it. We need to get it right.
