Governors’ Report to Parents, September 2018

We are expecting Ofsted this year, in fact, we were expecting them last year after our first Year 6s left us. It will be interesting to see what the inspectors think about how we are doing.

We think we are doing OK, and so do you, but we have to make sure that we can prove it. We had several new governors joined us at the start of last year, and I’m pleased to say that they have all found their roles and got stuck in. We have recently been joined by Councillor Steve Leggett, who brings a wealth of experience from business and from community care.

At our meeting last week we agreed our priorities for this year. We know we need to get children reading more – in school and at home – and Maths remains a focus, in our second year of using the Maths No Problem scheme. And we will continue to try to improve our performance as governors.

But what about you, our parents?  What do you think the school could do better? What new things would you like to see? There’s a suggestion box in Reception, we try to be around at events for parents, and we can all be contacted through the school.
