Marketing the school

When people apply through the council website for a school place for their child, it hasn’t been that easy to find Banister. In this area, they are told that they are in St Mark’s catchment area. Governors have worked with the council and they’ve have made some helpful changes to the website, but we felt that more positive action was needed. This year, working with the SLT and drawing on the comunication and marketing skills of the governors, we have boosted our open days. We produced brochures for local nurseries, doctor’s waiting rooms and other places were parents might see them, hung banners outside the school and put focused adverts out on social media. It seems to have helped. Wew’ve had good levels of interest at the open days. We’re now waiting to see how this affects the applications for places. Fingers crossed!
