We are delighted to say that we attended an award ceremony at the Lord Mayor’s office on 19th June 2018 to receive confirmation of our “School of Sanctuary” status. This means our school is striving to continue to be exceptionally welcoming to children and families from all backgrounds, faiths and countries.

Banister teaches children to thrive in a world where people from different backgrounds are increasingly likely to come into greater contact. We firmly believe it is a vital life skill for children to learn how to get on with people from all cultures and this is reflected in our school values, where we embed mutual respect between all members of the school and community.

We facilitate being ready to learn about different backgrounds and cultures and being responsible for making sure every child feels safe and welcome in our wonderful school.
